Established in 2008, ProAction Fitness Llc was created to make health & fitness more convenient & affordable for people. We focus on the individual’s total wellness, not just physical fitness. You don't even need to leave home...we come to you.  You may train virtually, in your home, at my home gym, at the office, by the river, or anywhere else you may be. "Four years ago, at the age of 28, I herniated my L5/S1 disc in my back. Over seventy pounds overweight, which had everything to do with this injury, I was absolutely miserable and in tremendous pain.

I met Melissa last summer, around the time that I decided to make finishing a sprint triathlon my fitness goal. I am nothing if not overly ambitious. Melissa helped me to work around my health issues in a safe and effective manner and I am proud to say that on April 5th, I finished in the middle of my bracket for the South Beach Nautica Sprint Triathlon.

"Thanks for all the help with my pt. Before I started our workouts I could only do 20 push ups 20 sit ups and barely run a mile in 9 minutes before having to take a break and walk and I had some lower back pain. I just finished basic and my last pt score was 52 push ups 60 sit ups and I ran 2 miles nonstop in 15:37. I would've had to train twice as hard at basic if it wasn't for your help. Your workout sessions helped my cardio so I could keep up on our runs and my back got so strong that I went from constant back pain to being able to do a 2.5, 5, 7.5 and 10 mile ruck march with 80+ lbs on my back. "I worked out with Melissa for six sessions and each one was amazing.  I was looking for help to push my triathlon training to a higher level in terms of creativity and intensity.  I wasn't looking for a gym trainer because I can't bring myself to go to a gym when I live in an outdoor paradise.  Well, Melissa delivered!!  We worked out everywhere except a gym:  in my apartment with weights, on the beach doing sand sprints, in the park with medicine balls, agility ladders and park benches, on my bike along the Mokulele bike path, and my most favorite for the sheer laughter of it, was in the ocean doing 'aerobics' on my stand up paddle board.  She listened to my goals and planned kick-butt, FUN sessions that gave me great results.

I have a doctorate in physical therapy and work with people who have sports and orthopedic injuries daily.  So you'd think I should know how to keep myself in top shape without assistance.  But we all need help from time to time, to take it up a notch or address issues we can't seem to fix ourselves.  I was struggling with exercise-induced asthma and some nagging hip and foot pain, all of which Melissa helped me address without pain and with understanding and professional knowledge.   She helped me increase my cardio capacity, to get past the wall that had been holding me back.  Most importantly, she gave me the tools to adjust and progress my training independently so I got more out of ALL my workouts, not just the workouts we did together. She also made sure I didn't over train and checked that my mechanics were correct with everything we did.  I would have continued training with Melissa but work and buying a house got in the way.  When things settle down, I will definitely be back!"
